Has observado cómo la cosa en la que te concentras parece aparecer por todas partes? Es como ese viejo chiste acerca de aprender a andar en bicicleta – si te obsesionas con «mira, ahí hay un árbol, un árbol, un árbooooooool!!!» – zas, te has estrellado con el árbol.
Otro ejemplo diferente: tal vez estás pensando en comprarte un cierto modelo de coche y lo empiezas a ver por todas partes. O te enteras de una enfermedad o problema y empiezas a encontrar noticias al respecto en los sitios más insospechados.
Esto se debe a dos motivos: por un lado, tu cerebro se centra en la información deseada y bloquea la información innecesaria. Esto sucede automáticamente, porque nos volveríamos locos si nos diéramos plena cuenta de todo lo que está pasando en cada momento, así que el cerebro hace un filtro y nos da más de aquello que percibe que te interesa en estos momentos.
Por otra parte, mediante la ley de la atracción tiendes a gravitar hacia aquellas cosas en las que te concentras, como probablemente sepas si has escuchado al respecto.
Para los fines de este artículo, hablemos acerca del agradecimiento. Qué pasa si estás inmerso en tus problemas? Parecen crecer, no es verdad? Facturas sin pagar, preocupaciones con tu pareja, problemas de salud, y así sucesivamente. Es fácil sentirse sobrepasado, estresado, e incluso deprimido. Así que cómo hacemos para darle la vuelta a la tortilla? Céntrate en las cosas por las que te puedes sentir agradecido! A veces puedes rezongar «Pero de qué me voy a sentir agradecido, has visto mi cuenta bancaria y mi informe médico? Y mi apartamento está hecho un desastre, tengo pilas de ropa por lavar/planchar…». Bien pues, encontremos algunas cosas por las que agradecer.

Puedes leer! Mucha gente no sabe leer, o no tienen ojos, o no tienen gafas.
Tienes un apartamento sucio y desordenado? Piensa en la gente que no tiene casa! Hoy tienes techo sobre tu cabeza.

Y tienes piernas para caminar, oídos para escuchar, comida para comer hoy…
Quiero desafiarte con una herramienta estupenda: el diario de agradecimientos.
Cada noche, encuentra 3 cosas por las que sentirte agradecido ese día. Pueden ser cosas pequeñas, como subirte al autobús a tiempo, esa persona amable que te sostuvo abierta la puerta, o un pajarito cuyos trinos te hicieron sonreír.
Pronto te encontrarás que a lo largo del día vas buscando cosas que puedas escribir a la noche. Y adivina qué? Esas cosas empezarán a aparecer «mágicamente». Tal vez sientas que simplemente estás prestando atención a lo bueno antes que a lo malo. Pero pronto tendrás también la sensación de que suceden más de las cosas buenas. Sentirás como en tu vida las cosas han empezado a salir bien (o mejor).
Este es un ejercicio muy sencillo y sin embargo muy poderoso. Pruébalo durante 3 semanas y notarás los resultados!
Quieres hacerlo un poco más exigente? Escribe 5 cosas cada noche. Es más fácil de lo que piensas! Te asombrarás, te lo prometo. Luego si quieres deja un comentario abajo una vez que hayas hecho el ejercicio! 🙂
