Can anyone learn Reiki? Yes! Mayni has taught people from ages 5 to 95. Reiki is a system that is transmitted through personal initiation, so learning is not a mental process. You get the energy in your hands and learn practical ways to use it.

For First Degree, you don’t even need to know how to read and write – once initiated, Reiki will flow through your hands just the same.

For Second Degree, you do need to know how to read and write, but more importantly need to have practiced First Degree for a minimum of 3 months.

Mayni was fortunate to learn from Anugama, who had gone to repeat the Reiki courses with all living masters of Mrs. Takata (see ”History”). Thus, Anugama had gathered a lot of information which most Reiki masters don’t have. Hence, Mayni’s courses are 18-20 hours long, both First and Second Degree.
