Usui System of Reiki Healing

Mayni is a Reiki Master, member of “The Reiki Alliance,” a world organisation of masters who teach the system of Dr. Usui, keeping it in its original pure state.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word that means approximately “the energy of Light and Love that moves universe.”

Reiki is not a religion, nor does it replace them. There are Reiki practitioners from all religions, and also there are some who don’t profess any specific denomination. It is a system for healing and personal growth.

What does the Usui System heal? 

The Usui System of Natural Healing (Usui Shiki Ryoho, in Japanese) heals the whole person, not only an illness.

It heals at all levels of the Being: Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, and Physical (and thus the whole person, not only individual diseases).

What does it consist of?

In order for you to be correctly initiated, your master needs to have the proper training to be a  master, and he/she must also  know and meet the 9 Points of the Form.

What can be done with Reiki?

With first degree you can give Reiki to yourself, to the people you have near you, to your animals and plants… You can also give Reiki to the food (to remove the toxic effects of the chemical products added) or to medicines (to eliminate their side effects). The course is approximately 18 hours long.

I personally like to keep the first four hours of the course (where I tell the story of Reiki, that is, how it started and how I got to it, as well as the Principles) open. Thus people can come, learn more, and then if they want they may stay, and if not, no problem.

With second degree you can heal situations in the past or send light to the future (an exam, an operation…) to help you perform well. You can help someone who is far away. You can change negative patterns in your thoughts. And hundreds of other uses.  The course is approximately 18 hours long.

I should clarify here that these are 18 hours of theorical information and practice – it is not that “it takes you 18 hours to learn” but rather that I have 18 hours of material to share.

I (Mayni) work as a master (teaching Reiki) and also as a practitioner (treating myself and giving individual treatments).

How do you do it?

Once you have been initated, following the 9 Points of the Form, you are ready to do it. First with yourself. You gently put your hands on, and the energy flows.

In second degree you use sacred symbols and sounds (mantras) to create a bridge over time and space. The power is directly proportional to the reverence with which they are used.

How will I recognise a master of Usui Shiki Rioho?

Part of the “requisites” for a master of The Reiki Alliance are not making any advertisement. This causes much confusion, since many people are making publicity right now.  In general, the only advertisement of a “real” course is a small note in a health food store or at a pupil’s consultation. The purpose of this web is to give information. You can also review the 9 points of the Form to check.

Reiki is not a business. You need a minumum practice time of three months between first and second degree, even though it’s advisable to let this time be longer. Likewise, becoming a master is not a course but a process of 1 to 3 years (or more) beside a master, starting a minimum of 6 months of practice after 2nd degree.

What happens if I learn Reiki with a master who is not prepared?

If one learns with a pizza teacher, one will learn to make pizzas. If one learns with a hairdresser, one may be able to do hair. If the Reiki master isn’t a master… it won’t be Reiki what you learn.
